With a love for numbers and helping people, Scott Herckis knew that financial advisement would be a good fit for him. When he was studying at the University of Texas for his undergraduate degree, he discovered his passion for combining numbers and business and decided he would pursue a degree in finance. After graduating, he started at Arthur Andersen’s Audit and Assurance Department primarily working on large accounts. He continued to work hard in his field all the way up the accounting and finance ladder with companies in the fashion and apparel industry as a controller, then as Vice President of Finance and finally as Chief Finance Officer (CEO).
While he enjoyed his work at these large firms, Scott Herckis found a new piece to his passion. He wanted to use his knowledge to help people, not just big corporations but small businesses. He wanted to take the knowledge he had gathered in big business and use it to help the small business owner to make the best financial decisions possible. Not just helping people on a mass corporate level, but helping small business owners using sound and objective data. CEO Scott Herckis was able to learn how the finance world functioned in different financial departments and now after gaining that knowledge he uses it to daily at his own firm SJH Financial, founded in 2009, and is now able to fulfill his passion for helping small business owners.
